History of Combs Sailing Club

Combs Reservoir was built in 1797 and not much happened there until Combs Sailing Club was founded in 1950. At that time it was the only sailing club within a 40 mile radius.

To celebrate it's 50th year Sandy Broadbent wrote a history of the club, appropriately titled, "The History of The Combs Sailing Club 1950-2000". At present it is not available in electronic form but printed copies are still available to members. In the club's 60th year Sandy began work on updating the history and we are pleased to be able to make that update available here. We hope that you enjoy reading it.
